Atmo/black metalová skupina MATER MONSTIFERA vznikla na sklonku léta roku 2000. Zakládajícími členy byli Yvor (guitar, backing vocals & programming), Destructor (vocals) a Jitka (keyboards). Krátce po té se ke skupině připojil Astral Vampire (guitar) a na konci téhož roku Mater Monstifera nahrává své první demo s názvem „Svíce života“, které po vydání kapela koncertně podporuje. Hudební styl Mater Monstifera dostává konkrétní podobu – Atmosferický black metal s výraznou podporou kláves.
Na jaře roku 2001 přichází Abogarth a obsazuje volné místo baskytaristy. O rok později ve studiu Prodigy skupina nahrává nové MCD „Sepsáno krví“, které vydala firma IFA records. Na podzim téhož roku kapelu opouští z rodinných důvodů Astral Vampire, který krátce kapele vypomáhá jako studiový hráč. Jeho pozici obsazuje Česyn.
Kapela během následujících dvou let (2003 – 2004) odehrála velké množství živých koncertů. V druhé polovině roku 2004 se začalo připravovat debutové album.To bylo nahráno během dubna a května 2005. O vydání se opět postarala firma IFArecords. Astra Vampire a Grief (ex-Immortal Teras) se na CD objevují jako speciální hosté.
Na jaře 2006 odchází baskytarista Abogarth a nahrazuje ho Deemon. Kapela se během přípravy druhého alba zaměřila na živé koncertování. První předzvěstí nového alba se stává singl Beletseri, na kterém hostuje zpěvačka Dying Passion, Zuzana Jelínková. Kapela sklízí pozitivní ohlasy z řad fanoušků i kritiků.
Na konci roku 2010 opouští kapelu dva ze zakládajících členů – zpěvák Destructor a klávesistka Jitka. Náhrada se však objeví téměř okamžitě. Volné posty obsazují Stephanos (voc) a Denisa (keyboards).
Druhá dlouhohrající deska „Na zrcadlech lží“ se rodí pod taktovkou zkušeného Jiřího Drdáka (Prodigy Studio). Vydána je 20. června 2011 jako součást časopisu Pařát.
V květnu roku 2012 přichází do kapely posila v podobě bubeníka Ondreho. Skupina začíná okamžitě připravovat nový materiál a na podzim téhož roku se opět uzavírá do studia Prodigy, kde nahrává aktuální třískladbový singl "V troskách Tvýho světa". Materiál vychází 30.3.2013 na "flashdiscu" a oficiální distribuci zajišťuje firma Metalgate.
Následující dva roky jsou plodné na živá vystoupení a zároveň kapela intezivně pracuje na novém CD. V lednu 2017 se Mater Monstifera opět uzavírá do českobudějovického studia Prodigy, kde vzniká třetí řadové album. Jako hosté se na novém albu podíleli Radek Popel a jihočeský vokální kvartet Calypte.Aktuální CD, které nese název *’Vězení Bizarních Bohů*’ bylo vydáno 15. 6. 2017 produkcí časopisu /Pařát/, jako součást jeho červnového vydání. Nové album se opět vyznačuje řadou podmanivých melodií, které se Vám zaručeně zaryjí pod kůži. V současné době zaplňuje MATER MONSTIFERA svůj koncertní kalendář a zároveň se připravuje na propagační turné….
Atmospheric black metal band MATER MONSTIFERA rose in the end of the summer 2000. The original line-up was : Yvor - guitar, backing vocals & programming, Destructor - vocals and Jitka - keyboards. Not long afterward, Astral Vampire joined the band on lead guitar. At the end of the year, MATER MONSTIFERA recorded and released their first demo named "Svice Zivota". After the release the band focused on supporting the material by a range of shows and the style of the band took more concrete shape - atmospheric black metal with substantial support of keyboards. In the spring 2001, Abogarth became a member of the band as a bass player.
A year after, the band recorded its new stuff in ´Prodigy´ studio. It was released as MCD by I.F.A.records in the summer 2002. In the autumn of the year, Astral Vampire left the band because of family reasons. Since that time he´s co-operated with the band as a studio guitarist. His position in the band was appointed by Archangel.
During the next two years (2003-2004) the band pursued huge number of live performances. In second half of the year 2004, preparations for recording a debut album started. It was recorded within April and May 2005 and was eventually released by I.F.A.records in June 2005. Astral Vampire (Lead gutar) and Grief (ex-Immortal Tears singer) occure as special guests.
In the spring 2006 the former bass player Abogarth is replaced by Deemon.The band pay attention to performing a number of concerts while working on the second album. As a teaser, the single Beletseri is recorded, with a vocal support by Dying Passsion´s singer Zuzana Jelínkova, and freed to public. The band is satisfied with positive responses from both fans and critics.
At the end of the year 2010, however, the singer Destructor leaves the band due to bussiness reasons and the position of a keyboard player is also abandoned after the leaving of Jitka. Nevertheless, replacement emerges almost immediately. Stephanos becomes the new frontman and Denisa takes charge of keyboards.
In the spring 2011, MATER MONSTIFERA leaves for the tried-and-tested Prodigy Studio and finishes the second long-playing record, ´Na Zrcadlech Lží´, under the charge of Jiří Drdák, which is released on 20th June as a supplement of Pařát magazine. In following month, the band focuses on supporting the CD with live performances.In May 2012, the band is reinforced by a drummer, Ondre, and starts up working on new stuff. In the autumn of the year, the band once again visits the Prodigy Studio and records the current 3-tracks singl ´In the Ruin if Your World´. On 30th of March 2013, it is released on flashdisc, under official distribution of Metalgate records.
Following two years are devoted to live shows and the material for the next album crystallizes. In January 2017, MATER MONSTIFERA leaves for the /Prodigy Studio/ once more and gives birth to the third regular album CD. As special guests, /Radek Popel/ and a south-Bohemian vocal quartet /Calypte/ took part.The current CD, named ‘*Vězení bizarních bohů*‘(Bizzare Gods‘ Prison), was released on 15th of June 2017 by the /Pařát/ /Magazine/ Productions as a supplement of their June’s edition. The material of the present album is characterized by captivating melodies that will surely get under your skin. Nowadays, MATER MONSTIFERA is filling their schedule with concert venues and makes plans for a promotional tour.
